(INTERVIEW) Rosco Bandana: 9 November 2013

The Mississippi septet Rosco Bandana are the product of teenage rebellion and its consequences; of lost love, false starts and, above all, lasting friendship. They’re what happens when a group of kids take a chance on a long shot and – against all odds – it pays off. Their act includes blues/americana style music blended with modern folk and a hint of gypsy fanfare. The band formed recently and has been shaking up the local music scene with their energetic live performances. And Atlanta is lucky enough to have them at Smith’s Olde Bar on 11/9!

We talked to Jennifer from Rosco Bandana and you can check out what she had to say below!
What’s the first gig you ever attended?
LeAnn Rimes. I think I was 10 years old and she totally blew me away.
What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?
Opening for FUN. in Alpharetta, Georgia. The crowd was so big and so loud. The feeling it gives you could bring anyone to their knees.
What is the best gig you have ever seen?
That’s a tricky one because I have seen many amazing shows. I guess I would say FUN. because it was so recent and watching Nate Ruess was like watching Freddie Mercury for me. I felt like I was watching history in the making.
What is the gig you would most like to play?
I would love to one day be able to play Glastonbury. I would feel pretty cool if that happened.
What would be the lineup for your dream gig?
Something put together like “The Last Waltz” with bands and musicians like Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton, Wilco, Avett Brothers and Joe Fletcher.
